Sample Itinerary: Costa Rica Highlights
Volcano, cloud forest, beach, and everything in between!
Day 1: Upon your arrival to San Jose Intl airport, you will be met by your friendly Central America Journeys representative and driven by private van to Arenal. – Overnight at Arenal Hotel
Day 2: Morning at Leisure then in the afternoon, take a hiking tour on the trails of Arenal Volcano. You will have a chance to view the volcano from and hear about the natural history of this amazing mountain of fire. After the hike, head to the hot springs to enjoy the rest of your evening (B, D) – Overnight at Arenal Hotel.
Day 3: This morning you will have a chance to experience a little of Costa Rica’s wildlife, as you take a safari float down the Penas Blancas River (B) – Overnight at Arenal Hotel.
Day 4: Today you will transfer to Monteverde across Lake Arenal. Once in Monteverde you will be taken directly to the Sky Trek Zip line tour to experience a little adrenaline rush as you soar through the canopy. (B) – Overnight at Monteverde Hotel.
Day 5: After breakfast you will have a chance to explore the Monteverde Reserve with your naturalist guide and try your luck at spotting the elusive Quetzal. Afternoon at leisure. (B) – Overnight at Monteverde Hotel.
Day 6: This morning you will be transferred by private van or shuttle bus to Manuel Antonio. – Overnight at Manuel Antoniol Hotel.
Day 7: Take a tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park with your naturalist guide. See if you can spot all four species of monkeys. Afternoon at leisure. (B) – Overnight at Manuel Antonio Hotel.
Day 8: After breakfast, hop aboard a catamaran to tour for some fun in the sun with snorkeling, marine life viewing and lunch. (B, L) – Overnight at Manuel Antonio Hotel.
Day 9: Feeling inspired by the 9 days you spent in Costa Rica, you travel back to San Jose by ground or air to connect with your International flight home.
